Lithgow Emerging Economies Plan (LEEP)
First Nations Network
The LEEP team is seeking to form a First Nations Network. The LEEP First Nations Network will help to ensure that Indigenous perspectives are incorporated in decision-making as we undertake our work in implementing the LEEP Report.
The LEEP First Nations Network will play a vital role in integrating Aboriginal knowledge in the transitions management process, particularly in the areas of environmental stewardship, cultural heritage, and socially equitable outcomes. The Network will meet 2-3 times a year at 180 Mort Street, Lithgow, and be consulted on a case-by-case basis, with a view to:
- Providing localised advice and guidance for the LEEP transitions management process, to assist greater understanding and awareness of local First Nations peoples’ interests, concerns, values and aspirations
- Advocating and supporting the creation of education opportunities, jobs and careers for First Nations Australians and First Nations-controlled service providers through the LEEP transitions management process
To be a part of the LEEP First Nations Network, please complete this form to express your interest. Expressions of Interest close on 31 January, 2025.
For further information, or for assistance to complete the form, please contact leep@lithgow.nsw.gov.au or call (02) 6352 9128.
